CHIEF SHEPHERD

“I exhort the elders among you as a fellow elder and witness to the sufferings of Christ, as well as one who shares in the glory about to be revealed: Shepherd God’s flock among you, not overseeing out of compulsion but willingly, as God would have you; not out of greed for money but eagerly; not lording it over those entrusted to you, but being examples to the flock. And when the chief Shepherd appears, you will receive the unfading crown of glory” (1 Peter 5:1-4).

LEAD PASTOR

Sam is a graduate of the University of Oregon (B.A.) and Southern Baptist Theological Seminary (M. Div). He grew up in Oregon, where his dad planted a church and pastored for over 20 years. Sam is passionate about mobilizing the local church to plant more churches for the advancement of God’s Kingdom. He is happily married to his wife, Dasol. They have one son named Emet. Sam’s favorite things to do are walking on the beach, hiking, playing Settlers of Catan, and watching Tottenham. His favorite preachers are John Piper, Matt Chandler, David Platt, PJ Tibayan, and Tim Keller.

ELDER CANDIDATE

LaMont was born and raised in Southern California into a strong Christian family. He graduated from CSUDH and has worked for the Torrance Unified School District for 35 years. He is married to his amazing wife Jennifer Henry and they have 3 children. LaMont has a passion for working with young people. He loves coaching basketball, camping, and the outdoors. Newly retired, he plans to devote the rest of his time serving God.

PASTORAL INTERN

Sunho is a graduate of CSU Fullerton and currently attends Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. He was born in South Korea and came to the United States at the age of 10. Sunho is passionate about reaching international students so they can take the gospel back to their home country. He also aspires to plant a church in the future. During his free time he likes solving puzzles, biking, running, playing soccer, and watching FC Bayern Münch.
